The Function Keys are a fantastic band, with highly experienced players, a great setlist and a performance which will set any event off with a bang.

We are a professional function band, and we pride ourselves on putting on an excellent show, filled with great music,- both with musical class and wide ranging appeal.

It's all about the music

We play a range of hits,from Elton John, Jamiroquai, Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder through to Stereophonics, The Kings Of Leon, The Rolling Stones and even Def Leppard! See below for a full current songlist.

There are some events when you really need to be sure you're in the right hands. We are fully insured, and our equipment is of a very high standard and p.a.t. tested every year.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of music do you play?

We play carefully selected pop/rock tracks which we do in a very lively, funky and jazzy way. We are all highly experienced professional musicians and are able to make each track our own and we tailor them purely to get folks dancing. Think Bruce Hornsby meets James Brown meets Stevie Wonder - and then they decide to jam out some classic tunes and have a blast doing it - that's kinda like what we sound like :) - but do check out our demo on this website.

How long do you play for?

Generally our show is around 2 hours. That splits into two hourlong sets although this is flexible and can be split into 3 smaller sets or one big long one (with a very quick pee break if needed!)

How much do you charge?

This depends on many factors, how far we're travelling, the length of time we're on site, the p.a. requirements etc. Get in touch with the details of the booking so we can quote you accurately.

Are you covered by insurance?

Yes, we have full Public liability insurance to the value of £2 million, as well as personal cover offered by the Musicians Union for each member - which is to the value of £10 million. Also all our equipment is PAT tested every year.

How far will you travel

Anywhere,- just ask and we'll see if it's feasible.

Do you use contracts/deposits?

Yes. All our gigs are contracted and require a deposit, which is 50% of the full fee. This needs to be sent to us with the contract. Only then is your booking confirmed. This gives you peace of mind to know that we will definitely be playing at your event and will not accept another booking for the same day. Cheques payable to The Function Keys or BACS info available on request.

Do you require changing rooms/food/drinks?

We do require a private changing room which is warm and clean because we do change before and after the show. As for food and drink, we do not expect it, but we always appreciate a cuppa and a sandwich if we've been travelling for a few hours.

Can you play music over the p.a. for us?

Yes, we have a collection of suitable party music which we can play over the system during the evening, however we can always recommend excellent discos who we work with regularly who can play a large range of stuff, and also introduce the band and also make announcements - and of course carry on the music should the party continue after we finish. You may also hire our p.a. for extra time after we've finished playing should you want to play music over it afterwards.

How long do you take to setup and how much space do you need?

We need an absolute minimum of 90 minutes to setup and soundcheck and require a space approximately 6x4 meters with our standard pa rig (good for upto 200 people). The auditorium rig requires about 12 x 6 meters.
