If you're here then you're probably looking for a quality band to play at a function or event which you need to be extra special. The Function Keys are a fantastic band, with seasoned, experienced players, a great setlist and a performance which will set any event off with a bang.

We are a professional function band, and we pride ourselves on putting on an excellent show, filled with great music,- both with musical class and wide ranging appeal.

It's all about the music

We play a range of hits, but all with a strong emphasis on piano/rock and keyboards. Tunes from Elton John, Jamiroquai, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Hornsby and many more. Click here for a full current songlist.

Booking and Technical info

What kind of music do you play?

We play pop/rock but we do it in a very lively, funky and jazzy way. We are all highly experienced professional musicians and are able to make each track our own. Think Bruce Hornsby meets James Brown meets Stevie Wonder - and then they decide to jam out some classic tunes and have a blast doing it - that's kinda like what we sound like :) - but do check out our demo on this website.

How long do you play for?

Generally our show is around 2 hours. That splits into two hourlong sets.

How much do you charge?

This depends very much on how long you need us to play for, how far we have to travel, and whether we need to stay overnight. Please supply as much info as possible.

Are you covered by insurance?

Yes, we have full Public liability insurance to the value of £2 million, as well as personal cover offered by the Musicians Union for each member - which is to the value of £10 million. Also all our equipment is PAT tested every year.

How far will you travel

Anywhere, but we do add travel costs to our fee.

Do you use contracts/deposits?

All our gigs are contracted and require a deposit, which is usually 50% of the full fee. This needs to be sent to us with the contract. Only then is your booking secure. This also gives you peace of mind to know that we will definitely be playing at your event and will not accept another booking for the same day.

Do you require changing rooms/food/drinks?

We do require a private changing room which is warm and clean. As for food and drink, we do not expect it, but we always appreciate a cuppa and a sandwich if we've been travelling far.

P.A. requirements.

If you are providing P.A we need provision for:-

1 Roland RD700sx piano - Needs 2 XLR lines, panned Left/Right.
1 Guitar Cab - Needs 1 Mic, preferably shure SM57.
1 Ampeg Bass Cab - Needs 1 Mic, Preferably shure SM57.
1 Drumkit - Full mic setup.
3 Vocal Mics - Preferably SM58.

If we are providing our own P.A.

We need a clean, constant and safe power supply.

We need a reasonable amount of room, we're a 4 piece band with a P.A which is floor standing on top of two sub-woofer units.

Our P.A. Is of excellent sound quality and comprises - 2xJBL Eon G2 15 actives - 2xDB Technologies Opera Sub15 Subwoofers, Mackie Onyx 1604 desk with recording capabilities (ask if you want your gig recorded).

Our P.A. is comfortable with indoor venues up to 250 capacity. If your party is expecting more we may need to charge extra for a P.A. Hire,- or you can do this yourself.
